Moms will do anything they can to help their children. We encourage our children to be the best they can be. We teach them the difference between right and wrong. We love them unconditionally. And we feel the most amazing pride when we see them develop independence and succeed!
When I was a little girl, all I dreamed about was getting married and being a mom. Sure I wanted to be successful, and be a good person… but to be a “mom”… that was my dream! I wanted the fairytale!
Luckily, my dreams started becoming a reality when I met my the love of my life in 1994, we got married in 1999, and I became a mom in 2000, 2001, 2008 and, once again in 2017 (through adoption). Building our life together and providing for our children is what I live my life for. Each time I see one of our children succeed or accomplish something, my heart fills with joy!
In 1999, I graduated from Cal State University Fullerton in California, with a Bachelors of Science in Child Development, with an emphasis in Special Education.
While in school, I constantly wondered how it is that just “anyone” can have a baby, without having taken any of the classes that I had just taken. I was filled with a wealth of knowledge that I only wished all moms would be forced to learn before becoming a mom! Then it hit me… many people can have a baby, but to be a “MOM”, that is something special.
No one ever said that being a mom would be easy! It is one of the most gratifying and difficult jobs anyone could have. And as they grow older, it only gets harder. Yes, I am “that mom”. The one that brainstorms on how to better a situation for my child, when one of them needs it. The one that lays awake at night worried about one of them. The one that puts her heart and soul into making sure my children are cared for in the best way possible. Yes… I am “THAT MOM”, and I am SO proud to say so!
