Josiah was born at 26 weeks and 3 days. He developed hydrocephalus within a few weeks after his early birth due to a grade 2/3 on the left side of his brain and a 3/4 grade bleed on his right. He spent almost 5 months in the NICU during that time he had 3 different shunts places which kept failing.
Hydro can also cause seizures,extreme fatigue and headaches. Finally after months of hospital stays and 36 plus surgeries Josiah now has a VA shunt which goes from his brain to his heart and has had this shunt since before his 1st birthday. He will be 4 in just a few weeks and is doing amazing.
