Eli is 3 and he is having feeding issues. His diet hasn't changed much since he was a baby - he still eats mostly puree's and drinks from a bottle. Back when he was in feeding therapy his therapist kept telling me that I needed to get a high chair with feet support. The optimal seated position is 90 degrees at hip, knees and ankles. And it's even more important for kids with low muscle tone (hello Down syndrome!) to have extra support.
We had the $15 high chair from Ikea. Why? Because it was modern and went well with our kitchen and was cheap. Well you know the old saying you get what you pay for?
I finally caved (better late than never, right?) and got him a Tripp Trapp from Stokke.
We just got it yesterday, so I have no idea if it will be a game changer for his feeding issues or not, but he already has the foot support and I'm super hopeful :)
I also love how it brings him closer to the table so he can feel more involved at mealtime. And now I get to use his EZPZ mat more too :)

hi! my daughter maylee had feeding issues too. would only swallow foods. we figured out she liked spicy food so we would dip stuff in salsa and she would have to bite down on it. she now at 8 eats better then my other 2 girls.
Hello Michelle, Grettings to you and Family, My son Josiah is almost 3 yrs old, and he has Down syndrome, soon he will start school and is something that will also be an adventure don’t know how is going to work out. But I have faith that God will see us through. From the day Josiah was born it’s been new territory if it wasn’t for Gods Angels I don’t know how would we have managed. Josiah is teaching us patients and most of all the meaning of what love is, as much work that it is to care for him my husband and I feel privileged to have him. Josiah is also eating puréed foods and still on the bottle, I figure that everything will work out in his time. He also doesn’t like to wear shoes.
